“This plein air piece was painted at Sharon’s family garden. There is so many beautiful sites to paint in that garden, I could spent many happy hours painting there. Every time I paint outside especially in a beautiful garden, I think of my compatriot Monet who spent his days in the French countryside. Actually the light in the south of France where he painted, is very similar to our beautiful California light. This particular painting is going to be in a new movie by Nia Vardalos (“My Big Fat Greek Wedding”) called ‘I Hate Valentine Day’.”

I love the puddles of light n’ shadows in this. I feel it as an intimate moment of solitude in a garden corner; WELL DONE as usual, Dominique;^D

Dominique, I like how you captured the feeling of space between things, if you know what I mean. So pleasant to look at.

Dominique,
You create a beautiful inviting little space with your artistry. I remember when you painted this, how impressed all of your fellow artists were. It is like a little jewel.
I got a very nice article reviewing my blog on Empty easel . It is a site which reviews art blogs and much more. It has a lot of resources for artists.
What empty easel says about my work:
“Dominique Amendola focuses primarily on landscapes and figures, using gorgeously vibrant colors to create scenes of amazing clarity and intensity.”
